Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the major national parks in Kenya and is famous for bird watching. Other lakes that are frequented by bird watchers include: one of the great bird paradises that includes Lake Elementaita, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha and Lake Baringo. Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. This bird sanctuary is home to more than 400 species of birds, some of which are resident here, while others are migratory birds.
This lake is famous for its pink flamingos and is known as the pink heart of Kenya. It is home to over a million lesser and greater pink flamingos that feed on the abundant algae that thrives in the lake. In addition to birds, the park has a variety of wildlife including baboons, monkeys, zebras, cheetahs, rhinos and Rothschild’s giraffes, among other wildlife. Lake Nakuru National Park is home to black and white rhinos and is known to have the highest concentration of black rhinos in Kenya.
This sheepfold also has several escarpments with cliffs and has a large number of snakes, mostly pythons. Lions can also be seen below Flamingo Hill. It also has acacia forested areas, where the largest wildlife species can be found.

7:00 AM: Pick up and departure from the agreed place. After picking you up in Nairobi early in the morning, we'll embark on a 2.5-hour drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, with a stop at Lake Nakuru Lookout. 10:00 AM: Arrival at Lake Nakuru National Park. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru National Park, you will embark on a game viewing trip, with the chance to see some of Kenya's remarkable birds in the beautiful lakes of the Rift Valley. Keep an eye out for other animals that graze along the coast, including some of Africa's famous game animals. 12:30 PM: Lunch at a lodge in the park. After your morning drive through the park, enjoy lunch at one of the lodges before heading off for another game viewing drive. 2:00 PM: safari in the afternoon, followed by the exit of the park. The departure will be between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., depending on the availability of fauna. 6:00-6:30 PM: Arrival in Nairobi
